Meet Emmelyn

Emmelyn provides Early Intervention Services in Pickens County.

Hi! I'm Emmelyn, I live in Clemson in Pickens county but I’ve lived all over Pickens county and hope to move to Liberty soon. I enjoy reading and playing video games. Lately my favorite books have been The Hunger Games series especially since the new book Sunrise on the Reaping came out! Some of my favorite video games are Skyrim or Dragon Age. When it's nice outside, I love to go hiking or play pickleball with my fiancé. My fiancé and I also enjoy going to Renaissance Fairs with our friends! We can be pretty nerdy but we wouldn't have it any other way. In October of 2025 we are set to get married and couldn't be more excited about that journey. Me and my fiancé have two sweet kitties named Oliver and Oakley. Oliver is our orange teddy bear while Oakley is our crazy little tripod kitty who only has three legs! We love them both very much. Another interesting fact about me is that I come from a large family. I am the oldest of seven children and I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't wait to love on you and your family!

Background

Education:

  • Bachelors of science in Psychology with a minor in Childhood and Adolescent Development from Southern Wesleyan University

I have always wanted to work with children as I have always had a love for little babies. Being the oldest of seven children I have dealt with babies my entire life. I had four years of my childhood where I was an only child and after that I was practically a third parent. I also interned with Bloom Therapy in Liberty. At Bloom, I worked with all ages as young as four all the way up to fifty-two. Because of this, I have experience with many therapies including play therapy, ACT, and CBT however I do not have the appropriate credentials to administer these therapies. I do have knowledge that will help equip me to better understand what the therapy your child is involved in might look like. Early Intervention jumped out to me because of the involvement with the family. Families are the backbones of children. I am excited to be helping families find the routines and systems that work to improve their lives to be the fullest and happiest they can be!
