Meet Amy
Amy provides Early Intervention Services in Laurens County
After relocating from Missouri, where I taught high school English, early intervention provided a perfect opportunity to continue helping others while using my background in education. My husband of 20 years and I have three adult kids, three cats, and a miniature schnauzer named Fritz. We love South Carolina and are glad to have our family close.

Education and Background:
I love teaching at vast ends of the age spectrum-little ones & high school students. As a high school teacher, I worked extensively with a wide variety of cognitive levels, constantly differentiating instruction. While I have focused on high school students these past 10 years, little ones aren’t that far in my past. Before teaching high school students, I worked for the Independence School District in Missouri as a substitute teacher, specifically working all preschool ages. This district also had a program for young parents who were also students. It allowed me to help those young parents work with their infants and toddlers during their school day, while also providing care for the little ones.
Early intervention provides me an opportunity to see challenges for little ones and families early in their lives and provide tools, resources, and guidance to correct issues earlier in their journey. Having tools and support earlier in life allows families and little ones to develop healthier habits early on, preventing many of the issues I worked to correct at the high school level. I love being part of the solution earlier in the developmental process.
