Meet Liz

Liz provides Early Intervention Services in Spartanburg County.

Hi! My name is Liz Stevens and I was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC where I currently still reside. I come from a large, blended family and therefore have grown to appreciate the strength and resilience of family members during difficult times. Family is a big priority in my life because the support of those closest to you truly does take you far in life. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for helping others, especially children. Being able to brighten someone’s day or improve their overall quality of life is something that brings me great joy, especially those in vulnerable positions. I have had the honor of nannying a precious little girl, Charlotte, for almost three years now who has completely changed my perspective on life. She helps me slow down and appreciate the little things that have such a great impact on life. I also am an animal lover and am fortunate to dogsit for many of my friends and family. My hobbies include painting, walks in nature, shoe shopping, spending time with family and friends, and getting my nails done. I try to demonstrate resilience, compassion, empathy, and optimism in all that I do, so that I might make a difference in the lives of those around me. I cannot wait to see what opportunities come along with my new role here at Tiny Feet and the impact it will have on the families I serve and uplift!

Background

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in psychology, business, and sociology from the University of South Carolina - Upstate

I am a proud advocate of seeking support and guidance in the community, as demonstrated in the therapy I attend myself. I feel as if early intervention offers somewhat of a parallel to therapy services, as both work to understand, support, and guide children and families on an individualized basis towards success. Once I began nannying Charlotte, I became an active member in her adoption process where I saw social services and early interventionists working to ensure she was set up with the best support to thrive. Every week, I would watch her make small improvements and now she is almost three and is full of joy and is meeting every milestone with flying colors, a trajectory that was once not predicted for her. More importantly, her parents feel equipped to best serve her needs and are supported by individuals like myself who love their family. The involvement of family and support is detrimental to the success of a child. I cannot wait to become an active member in the lives of so many children through early intervention services!
