Meet Mackenzie

Mackenzie provides Early Intervention Services in Greenville County.

I am originally from Greenville and am so excited to be back in my home city! I spent a few years living in both Charleston and Atlanta and loved exploring each city. I have always been an animal lover and have a 2 year-old border collie named Wrigley (Go Cubs!). Outside of work you can find me trying new restaurants, crafting/needlepointing, reading a good book, or traveling! My favorite travel destinations so far have been Florence, Italy and Canada. I am so excited to meet you and your family!

Background

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Furman University, Master of Science in Child Life from College of Charleston

I have always loved working with children and have worked in a variety of settings including daycares, public schools, and hospital settings. Most recently I worked as a Certified Child Life Specialist in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in Atlanta, GA.. As a Child Life Specialist I worked to support children’s development and coping abilities specifically related to complex medical diagnoses and extended hospitalizations. Through this, I gained extensive experience working with children across the developmental spectrum with a specific focus on supporting children on the autism spectrum. I spent a week working at a sleep-away camp for children with autism which was such an amazing experience. I am excited to begin my next chapter as an Early Interventionist since I will be able to utilize my skill-set to build supportive relationships with children and families in a community setting.
