Meet Melissa

Melissa provides Early Intervention Services in Anderson County.

Hi. My name is Melissa Estes. I live in the tiny town of Honea Path. I have two grown, married daughters, and three beautiful grandchildren. I am blessed that all live close. Being a Mimi is my favorite role. I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, traveling, and baking. I love serving in my church.

I have a passion for working with children and especially those with special needs. I served in a club in middle school and high school that worked with special needs students, and I was hooked.

Background

Education:

  • Bachelors in Elementary Education from Southern Wesleyan University.

I have a background in education. I taught 1st grade for 8 years in the private and public sector. I did ESOL for 8 years. I also worked in the social service industry with TANF families for 6 years. I worked in disability determination for 4 years. I fought hard in each of these jobs to provide children and families with the services and skills they needed to become successful. I look forward to providing more families with the support and skills they need. I have a passion for loving people in general no matter their stage in life. I’m so excited to be starting this new journey.
