Meet Tristin
Tristin provides Early Intervention Services in Pickens County
Hello, my name is Tristin! I was born and raised in Pickens County. I lived in Washington State for three years with my husband and returned to Pickens County upon discovering I was pregnant with my son. These days, we enjoy traveling and being outside. When the weather isn’t cooperating, you can find me cozied up with a good book. Overall, I seek low stress activities in my free-time that allow me to explore real and imaginary worlds.
Background
Education:
B.S. in Human Services from Southern Wesleyan University
M.A.T. Elementary Education from Western Governors University
I began working with children through a reading intervention program in 2020 at a school in Washington state. Through this role, I worked with a Reading Interventionist to focus on students just below grade level in grades kindergarten through 5th to uplift and motivate them in their early literacy journeys with targeted literacy lessons. When I discovered my pregnancy in 2023, I moved back to the upstate and worked part time at Six Mile Elementary School (Afterschool Care Provider) and at Sylvan Learning (Teacher/Tutor). Once I received my Master’s in Teaching, I began to pursue a full-time career and knew that General Education was not where my heart was. In May of 2024, I began working through the Phoenix Center at their childcare center as a Child Development Specialist. In this role, I was promoted to co-teach the infant classroom. I primarily worked with infants exposed to substance abuse to counteract and prevent related developmental delays. Through that position, I met many amazing Early Interventionists that inspired me to want to join their ranks.
